FROM THE ABYSS ARCHIVE: 2022, Venus Cazimi at 29 Libra...This Point is Now Exhumed and Examined
I wrote this all the way back in 2022, and now that we stand on the precipice of the final Venus Star Point in Scorpio, this article bears repeating. Originally published on my P@tr3on, pay attention to people who came into your life during that time, or who caused issues during that time. Patterns will be brought up once again during this Venus Retrograde. This was the FIRST Venus Star Point in Libra as the cycle shifts from Scorpio to Libra as the Venus cycle moves backward through the Zodiac, just like the nodes. Venus Cazimi was in DIRECT motion here, you will notice. Retrograde in the same sign takes place every 8 years, with a midpoint forward Cazimi. This is how the Venus cycle creates the star shaped pattern in the heavens that has been observed since antiquity, which is what we see in the story of Inanna's descent into the Underworld being with us since ancient Sumeria.
I am making this article free and publicly available.
Venus Cazimi at 29 Libra

We easily observe the rhyme and rhythm of the Solar and Lunar cycles through our daily experience. We all stand witness to Sun as it traverses the Zodiac along the Ecliptic, and we see Moon nightly wax and wane before us…we deeply feel every lunation’s guidance and the direction along which they spin our lives. Venus moves through its apparent cycle too, but there are more subtle influences in the background of the Venus cycle that we may not see so easily unless we pay attention. Every individual Solar conjunction Cazimi point that Venus makes is but a fraction of a larger and far more intricate Venus cycle that is not so easily discerned by the naked eye, one of delicate patterns and revelatory insight. Venus makes its conjunctions to Sun in a sequence of 5 signs that repeats, moving backward through the Zodiac, and each conjunction point makes a point in a larger pattern that reveals a pentagram (5 point star). Venus alternates in motion for these conjunctions, one conjunction will occur Inferior (behind the Sun, during Retrograde) then the next conjunction will be Superior (in front of the Sun, when Venus is Direct). Venus and the Sun join in conjunction every 9 and a half months, and the signs involved in the Venus Star only change after each sign spends a long period of engagement and influence, spending approximately a century at a time as the host of a Venus Star Point. When the signs of these conjunctions change, we feel shockwaves in relationships and in our understanding of resources. We stand now upon the precipice of just such a change, where one point of the Venus Star pattern moves from Scorpio into Libra, one of the home signs of Venus where these lessons will be overwhelmingly powerful. The Venus Cycle holds many mysteries in its intricate pattern, and every Venus Star Point conjunction marks the beginning of a new influence for us in regard to all things Venus...love, money, beauty, art. Venus/Sun conjunctions, as they fit into this larger pattern of hidden meaning, are exceedingly powerful turning points, and this particular Cazimi point is the harbinger of a more balanced understanding of relationships and resources. Welcome to Venus Cazimi in Libra, at once a homecoming for Venus, and the beginning of ending old patterns that do not meet our needs. Relationships and how we view them are about to change, and our connection to resources is going to be ultimately redefined under this influence.
When we can understand the dynamic within the cycle of these Venus Cazimi points, we can harness their energy to flow with the changes that they bring, rather than struggling against their demands for change. How the Venus cycle affects us depends upon not only our natal Venus sign and placement, but upon where our natal Venus fits into this big picture perspective of the Venus cycle. This can be determined more precisely by assessing the closest Venus Star Point conjunction that occurred before your birth as well as aspects to your natal Venus or other planets during that conjunction. The concept of the Venus Star Point and its importance in the greater context of the Venus synodic cycle is the pioneering work of astrologer Arielle Guttman, whose expertise and renown are well deserved.
This Venus Cazimi point will occur at 29 degrees Libra, and after this preview we do have just one final culminating Venus Star Point in Scorpio, that will occur at 0 Scorpio in 2026, because there is a mild wobble just like what we experience with the Nodes along the Ecliptic. This cazimi at 29 Libra, however, sets the stage here for us in regard to the Venus energy we will be working with for the next 9 and a half months until Venus will go Retrograde in Leo, making the next conjunction at 20 degrees of Leo during Retrograde. Let’s take a look at the exact chart for this Venus Cazimi, and consider that this energy will still be with us during both Saturn Station Direct at 18 Aquarius just hours after this Cazimi celestial event, as well as during the upcoming Solar Eclipse at 2 Scorpio, which will be conjunct Venus as both Sun and Venus will move into Scorpio just hours after this Cazimi.

The dynamics of this chart itself seem pretty straightforward, until we contemplate the role that Venus will play in the upcoming Eclipse, and until we consider that this occurs as Saturn is grinding down to a halt, preparing to Station Direct just a few hours after this celestial revelation. There are no powerful aspects within the chart itself, Pluto is a loose square here but isn’t causing too much trouble. When we consider exactly what is going on with all of the other planets, though, it begins to get complicated. Saturn Station Direct will occur about 7 hours after this conjunction, and that Station begins its own ending and winding down of the transit of Saturn through Aquarius. We also face this big shock and change to the Venus Cycle just as we have an Eclipse impending, and it is one of drastic change. This is not the first Eclipse that we’ve experienced on this Taurus/Scorpio axis, nor will it be the last, but Venus is right there in the middle of it. Sun and Venus will head into Scorpio the day after this conjunction, where Venus will be exactly conjunct the Eclipse itself at 2 Scorpio. Venus is illuminated now in this moment of Cazimi in Libra, allowing us to see above the depths of Scorpio for the first time in a hundred years. It’s like remembering how to breathe after being deprived, or coming to a surface that we had forgotten even existed…only to be pushed right back down immediately afterward.
This Venus Cazimi may be a portent of powerful realizations and revelations about relationship dynamics, about our expectations in relationships, about resources, about our own needs in regard to relationship or resources, and where we measure up when it comes to meeting the needs of others. Any imbalances will no longer be hidden as the scales of Libra do not lie, we will not be able to be manipulated. We transition from needing CONTROL under the previous Scorpio Venus influence to needing peace, needing space and room to feel understood. We WANT to connect rather than withdraw, and we seek an intellectual intimacy and connection as Venus and Sun meet in this Air sign, where the mind is more important than the physical and thought drives our impulses. Where Scorpio was obsessive, Libra is interested for the sake of things being interesting, where Scorpio was dominant, Libra is accommodating, where Scorpio manipulates with psychological edge, Libra manipulates with charm and fascination. Scorpio’s time as a Star Point of the Venus cycle demanded a level of intensity in relationships that must be consistently fed, where there is always something below the surface mysterious and hidden. Libra as a Venus Cazimi, however, is an energy that deeply desires fairness and a sense of reciprocal energetic bonds. We need a softer, gentler approach in relationships after this Cazimi, and our expectations may need to be adjusted accordingly. The way in which we connect will change, and relationships that don’t have a mutually satisfying mental connection will wear out their welcome, as will situations where collaboration is not a possibility. We need to work together, and we are willing to compromise with this Venus Cazimi in Libra, and this characteristic going forward may rock the foundation of relationships that are built upon Scorpionic dynamics of control.
This is a dramatic transition, and remember, this conjunction itself changes the nature of our Venus experience for the next 9 and a half months, not just for the time period of this conjunction. So, keeping this in mind, what happens when we see Venus and the Sun move into Scorpio the very next day, immediately following this Cazimi? We don’t get much time at all to experience the beauty of a Venus afterglow to this conjunction, because we are suddenly once again immersed in the underworld, after just a glimpse of what beauty lies before us. It’s like a fleeting fantasy, a mirage that may go up in smoke as the reality of the impending Eclipse begins to take hold and these two are plunged into Scorpio before they even have a chance to fully recognize the implications of their newfound awareness of one another in Venus’ home sign. A cautionary word: do not begin new relationships immediately under this energy, give it time. Wait until after the Eclipses have passed, because we all have old Scorpionic issues that are about to be dredged up. Scorpio entails transformation and all the things that demand it…it is the realm of intimacy, death, metamorphosis, and this area also includes things like inheritance, taxes, and other people’s money. With the planet of resources being powerfully activated here, this type of resource that comes from someone else may be a powerful transformative experience in one way or another, whether love newfound or love lost is involved. Libra themes of beauty, equality, justice, balance, fairness and harmony will begin to replace Scorpio themes of sex, intensity, jealousy, psychological elusivity, and acquisitiveness as we step into this new era of the Venus cycle. Where Scorpio wants to be in control, Libra wants dignity. Scorpio wants to feel desired, Libra wants to feel appreciated. Scorpio is enigmatic where Libra is an open book. Venus in all of its influence doesn’t just inspire what we want, it drives what we actually need to feel SECURE, at its heart…and here, in the heart of the Sun in Libra, Venus wants, above all else, peace and respect. Though we still have Scorpionic issues to confront, that we may rather not address, this Cazimi offers the change in perspective that we will need to confront them with Libra charm, grace, and willingness to compromise.
