Neptune Conjunct the North Node at 28 Pisces 1:11 AM EST
Moon conjunct Jupiter in Gemini
Outer planet transits are major celestial events. These far-reaching bodies are at a distance that move slowly around the Sun. Neptune has an orbit of about 165 years, while the Nodes have a cycle that repeats every 18 years. The Nodal axis is an arrow of destiny through any given chart, the Nodes are where the path of Moon intersects with the Ecliptic and are where Eclipses take place. These sensitive points are places where we are deeply impacted by planetary transits, where the North Node is the point of increase and where we are heading, while the South Node is a place of what we’ve previously learned and earned…the North Node is what to pursue, and the South Node is what to leave behind. Now that the Nodes have shifted to NN in Pisces and SN in Virgo for the next year and a half, not only does that change where we experience Eclipses by sign and within our charts, but it guides the shape of the collective in directions that call for spiritual awareness and greater discernment while we let go of perfectionism and expectations. The Virgo South Node can feel anxiety driven, while the Pisces North Node is mysterious and elusive. We have to find our focus by unfocusing, and to grasp the ether by dissolving previously conceived plans and routines. This is an axis of disintegration and dissolving, and it begins with a POWERFUL conjunction from Neptune, the planet of dreams, intuition, and illusions. When planets are conjunct one of the Nodes, we receive this in a way that shapes destiny, and magnifies the influence of the planet in our lives surrounding this point.
Neptune is a transformational outer planet that inspires and aspires, with hopes and dreams and intuitive insight. This influence can, however, lead us astray through idealism or illuision, we chase the mirage that was never founded in reality. The optimal touch of Neptune heightens spiritual awareness and creativity, while the difficulty lies in maintaining boundaries as it dissolves them, and knowing which dreams are worthy of pursuit. This is a time of being open to possibility, and to changing the nature of what we believe to be true, and what we believe is possible. In a year where so many other changes are taking place, this is a key aspect that defines how we harness the power of SPIRITUALITY and connections to higher power, higher self, the collective unconscious…Neptune in Pisces is a magical, mystical melting pot where the physical dissolves and the spiritual coalesces. Intuition is absolutely imperative under this time of conjunction to the North Node, and dreams, especially are important. They have meaning, and they have power. This is an especially potent time for divination and for ASKING for direction, guidance, or insight.
Neptune has been in the sign of Pisces since April 4, 2011, and is now finishing up the last few degrees of the sign in its transit. It WILL move back into Pisces in Retrograde, but before that we prepare for the ingress of Neptune to Aries on March 30. Neptune is not only finishing Pisces, but also a revolution of the Zodiac, where it will be reborn in Aries. At this time where Neptune is now conjunct the North Node, it’s time to revisit not only what we’ve learned in the duration of the transit since 2011 by looking at patterns of where boundaries dissolved, where WE were lost along the way, where addiction or escapism played a role in the issues we encountered…but to also consider the previous conjunction of Neptune to the North Node that happened on May 4, 2008 at Aquarius. 2008 to 2025, that’s 17 years since the last conjunction of Neptune to the North Node, so we can see how rare this celestial event is and appreciate the gravity of its elusivity and mystery. If any major events happened in your life in the months surrounding May 4, 2008 at 24 Aquarius, pay attention to the healing and the convergence that may happen for you now under the Neptune conjunction to the North Node in Pisces. Especially if there was any sort of major shift in direction, that cycle is back, with a different outcome and a much different sort of direction. Aquarius is the collective, the people around us and logic/reason while Pisces is the realm of the spiritual and immersion in compassion and emotion. Aquarius is confrontational, while Pisces is escapist. We learn to move with the current in Pisces rather than fight against it, and to trust our inner voices. This can be a time of magical solutions and sudden realizations that bring us to a place of resolution of the past, with a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the present.
There are numerous aspects inherent within the chart for Neptune on the North Node, but I feel that digging into them all in specificity is against the intuitive nature of this ethereal and mystical conjunction. The details in Virgo obsession and perfectionism are what we’re trying to get away from on the South Node, so my insight for this celestial event is intentionally less detail driven, and more of an encouragement to embrace what we FEEL. What enchants us and entrances us should be a point of guidance. Where spirit leads and feelings delve are the places to explore, to reach for and to which to aspire. Dreams are limitless, and there is power in allowing them to be unrealistic and intangible right now. The ONE important aspect that I will discuss is that Moon in Gemini is conjunct Jupiter, ruler of Pisces, in Gemini. This creates tension that shapes the dreams we reformulate and reconfigure during this time, because Jupiter as ruler is in detriment in the sign of Gemini, where it’s sharp but unfocused, and we may be overthinking the feeling part of things. Gemini Moon is highly analytical and verbal, and this brings attention to the importance of voicing ideas, hopes, wishes, and dreams. Gemini is a mental space, while Pisces is an emotional space, and we do not need to distinguish the lines between the two with Neptune on the North Node here. There is inspiration and there is hope. This involvement of Moon and Jupiter DOES, however, caution against believing everything we’re told, and speaks to the potential for manipulation or quick-change turnaround from promises, and things of that nature. Trust can be broken and dreams shattered, so be careful where trust is invested at this time. All that glitters is not gold, sometimes the pot at the end of the rainbow is empty and it was merely a reflection. Impulsivity is not the way. It’s important to listen within the stillness, to gather the hints within the ether, and to allow the power of intuition to shape the current peacefully, and with grace.
The nature of Pisces is avoidance, and peace…but remember that Neptune is preparing to enter the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries, the Mars ruled sign of conflict and war. It’s time to use this conjunction to the North Node to make peace with the past in order to harness the potential of the future. Pisces is inclined toward forgiveness, and allowing boundaries to melt as we embrace becoming one. Aries is highly individualist, and boundaries will be HARD and FIRM. While we are in this space of Neptune on the North Node, the space where forgiveness is necessary is less a place of forgiving other people, and more of a place of self-forgiveness. Pisces may bring up heavy issues here at the end of the sign, especially surrounding areas where we may have been taken advantage of, abused, or suffered from addiction or major patterns of escapism. This is the time to do whatever is required to work through these things to create our own sense of peace, and rebirth of hope.
